The end room (above) is the most characterful, tapering up towards the gable end, and with exposed wooden beams. It also has two large opening roof lights and double doors that can let in the summer air.
The iron staircase access takes you to the middle room with more exposed beams and smaller roof lights (above right). On the other side is the third room which also houses the toilet and kitchenette.
Flaxdrayton Farm is in beautiful rural South Somerset, surrounded by lush farmland and gentle countryside, and just 1/2 a mile from the A303. South Petherton is 2 miles away, Crewkerne and Ilminster are 5 miles, Yeovil 10 miles and Taunton 16. Both the Paddington and Waterloo lines to London are in easy reach, Bristol Airport is an hour away and Exeter Airport is 40 minutes.
Made from the famous honey-coloured Hamstone our farm buildings are arrayed around a courtyard, along with our house and some stables. Aided by the wonderful range of tenants who work here, this produces an intimate, vibrant feel and a very friendly atmosphere - there is a lot of cross fertilisation between the tenants, and a spirit of creativity.
The 19 units in our Victorian farmyard range from 250 to 1300 sq ft, and from characterful workshops to comfortable offices, some with outstanding views. All are well insulated and most have kitchenettes and toilets (with communal facilities, including a shower, for those without). There is ample parking, and the area is quiet and peaceful.
We had a very successful first ever Open Day on 17th September, with thanks to the 400 visitors for coming! It was a gorgeous sunny day and we were entertained with live music from John Adamson, games from Jess Hyslop and her team, and much else besides from the wonderful businesses who opened their doors and showcased their work and activities.

The Apple Store consists of three rooms totalling 950 sq ft. It is on the first floor right by the entrance to the farmyard and is accessed by an external iron staircase (above). It is heated with night storage heaters and has its own toilet and kitchenette.
Rent is £7,600/yr, plus a service charge of 39p/sq ft/yr for communal services (water, insurance, security lighting, general upkeep, etc).
